Doctoral research project: “Empowering the Roma: Lessons from the Development Practice”, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Vintila Mihailescu at the National University for Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest, Romania. Funded through funded through the European Social Funds SOPHRD/107/1.5/S/82729 project “Constructing and implementing an interdisciplinary innovative programme regarding Roma issues”.

2014 - 2017

Postdoctoral research project: “The Securitization of the Roma in the peripheries of Rome: An ethnography of formal and informal policing”. Part of the subproject A07 within the Collaborative Research Centre “Dynamics of Security: Forms of Securitization in Historical Perspective” (SFB/TRR 138), Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. Funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).

2020-2022

Research project “The Rise of Informal Policing in Europe: Security, Society, State”, funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation’s Special Programme “Security, Society, State” - a comparative ethnography of German and Dutch neighbourhood patrols / civilian defense groups.
